Usage Instructions

1. Create your design
   Design your decals using your preferred software. Check that your artwork is correctly sized before printing.
2. Print onto the glossy decal side
   Load the sheet into your inkjet printer so your artwork prints onto the glossy clear decal surface. Use a high-quality print setting where suitable.
3. Allow the ink to dry fully
   After printing, allow the sheet to dry completely before handling or sealing. Inkjet prints need extra drying time to help prevent smudging.
4. Seal the printed decal
   Apply a light coat of clear acrylic spray or decal sealer over the printed sheet. Allow it to dry fully, then apply additional light coats if required. This step is important for inkjet decals, as it helps protect the printed ink during soaking and application.
5. Cut out your decal
   Cut around the design as neatly as possible. Clear decal film is less visible than white film, but close trimming will still give the cleanest finish.
6. Soak in water
   Place the decal in clean water for around 20–30 seconds, or until the decal begins to slide away from the backing paper.
7. Apply to the surface
   Carefully slide the decal into position on your model or project. Use a damp cotton bud, soft brush or tissue to gently remove excess water and air bubbles.
8. Let it dry completely
   Allow the decal to fully dry before touching or applying any final finish.
9. Seal the finished project
   For best results, apply a clear top coat over the finished decal once dry. This helps protect it from handling, dust and wear.

Tips for Best Results

• Use clear decal paper on white or light-coloured surfaces for the best colour visibility.
• Avoid using clear decal paper over dark colours unless your design is very dark, as lighter printed colours may become hard to see.
• Always allow inkjet prints to dry fully before sealing.
• Apply several light coats of clear sealer rather than one heavy coat.
• Test print on plain paper first to check size, colour and positioning.
• Apply decals to a smooth, clean surface for better adhesion.
• Use a gloss clear coat before applying decals to painted models for easier positioning.
• For curved surfaces or panel lines, use a decal softener solution to help the decal conform to the shape.
• Avoid touching the printed area with wet fingers during application.
• Let decals dry fully before sealing with a final clear coat.

Important Notes

This product is designed for inkjet printers only. Do not use with laser printers. Inkjet printed decals must be sealed before soaking in water, otherwise the ink may run or smudge. Because this is clear decal paper, printed white areas will appear transparent unless your printer is capable of printing white ink. Printer settings, clear coats and surface finishes can affect the final result, so testing is recommended before applying decals to your finished project.
